Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has fired back at critics who have branded members of the Kenya Moja movement as traitors.
In a statement, the lawmaker defended the group’s position and reaffirmed her opposition to President Ruto’s administration.
“Nobody holds the key as a gate keeper for the ‘Wantam’ movement. Those branding others as traitors are insecure. I opposed President William Ruto even before others could get the courage to stop him. Those branding us today joined Ruto in condemning me for voting ‘No’ for finance bill 2023,” she noted.

She accused her critics of hypocrisy, claiming they once supported Ruto’s policies that have now backfired on the country’s economy.
The latest remarks come just two weeks after Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba dismissed claims that she had betrayed her political allies.
The allegations surfaced after she paid a condolence visit to the family of Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah following the death of his father.
In a statement issued on Thursday, September 18, Wamuchomba clarified that her visit was purely out of compassion and friendship, explaining that Ichung’wah’s elder sister is her longtime friend and supporter.
She further denied social media claims alleging that Ichung’wah had accused her of leaking opposition information to government officials, terming the reports as false and malicious.
