Gengetone artist Kevin Mburu Kinyanjui, alias Shalkido, passed away.
Shalkido passed away while receiving treatment following a tragic road accident along Thika Road on the morning of Sunday, October 5, 2025.
The artist was involved in a crash between Githurai and Carwash, just before Roysambu he succumbed to his injuries after being declared brain-dead at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH).
The news of his passing was confirmed by comedian Oga Obinna, who was closely followed his condition since the accident.
According to Obinna, he had been with the artist short before the accident.
He confirmed that the artist was involved in an accident and was taken to the hospital but later on the doctors declared him brain dead due to bleeding which occured in the brain that led to his death.
