Two pupils from Emmanuel New Life Learning Centre in Kayole have passed away, while two others are in critical condition, after construction debris from a neighbouring building site collapsed onto the school compound on Monday, October 6, 2025.
According to reports the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m., during the students’ lunch break.
Learners from the PP2 class were washing their hands when stones and other construction materials suddenly fell from a nearby plot under construction, striking four children.
The two pupils were rushed to the hospital before being referred to Mama Lucy Hospital while the other two were pronounced dead upon arrival.
So far, authorities have launched investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
