The High Court has given the Attorney General 14 days to respond to the lawsuit over deportation from Kenya in 2024.
This ruling was issued by Justice Lawrence Mugambi just after two months of waiting since the matter had been taken to court.
The Attorney General had requested an additional three weeks to respond, but Justice Mugambi dismissed the plea, stating that they had ample time to respond to the matter.
Besigye was allegedly forcefully abducted from Nairobi and deported to Uganda on November 16, 2024, while having come to attend the launch of Martha Karua’s book.
Besigye was arrested with his closest ally, Obed Lutale, who faces charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
