Moses Kuria Predicts 2027 Presidential Election Will Go to Run-Off

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria now claims that the 2027 presidential election will be decided in a run-off.

Taking to his socials on Sunday, September 28, Kuria predicted that no presidential candidate would secure an outright win in the first round of the election.

He noted that Kenya’s multi-party democracy has grown over the past 33 years, and for the first time, the country will witness a presidential run-off in 2027.

“Kenya’s fledgling multi-party democratic project has been growing gradually over the last 33 years. In 2027, a new chapter will be written in this book. For the first time, the winner of the Presidential Election will be decided in a run-off. There will be no outright winner in the first round,” Kuria noted.

Kuria’s remarks follow his earlier prediction that the 2027 presidential election would resemble Kenya’s landmark 2002 polls.

On June 22, Kuria suggested that the upcoming contest would depart from the usual political rivalries that characterize presidential races.

He further forecasted that key political leaders would reach a national consensus aimed at protecting the country’s future.
