The former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is set to make his first public appearance on Friday, May 2, 2025.
In an official statement, Matiang’i revealed that he will make his first public appearance in Gusii region where he will be accompanied by elected leaders such as Kisii Governor.
“Dr. Fred Matiang’i is pleased to inform the public that he will make his first public appearance this year in the Gusii region on Friday, May 2, 2025”, part of the statement read.
“Dr. Matiang’i will be accompanied by all elected leaders from the Gusii region, including Governors Simba Arati and Amos Nyaribo, Senators Momoima Onyonka and Okong’o Omogeni, as well as Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly”, the statement added.
The key highlight of his tour will include a meet-the-people tour and an official courtesy visit to the offices of the respective governors of Kisii and Nyamira counties.
The key stopovers during the tour will be Kijauri, Kiembu, Kisii town and Nyamira.
His first public appearance comes after speculations that he might vie for the 2027 presidential bid.
This will be Matiang’i’s first public appearance after returning to the county from the United States.
