Emergency response teams, including the Kenya Red Cross, the National Police Service, and county emergency services, worked through the night to rescue victims and clear the scene.

The operation was concluded in the early hours of Monday, June 8, after several hours of coordinated efforts.

The crash caused major traffic disruption along the busy highway, with rescue operations taking nearly six hours due to the scale of the incident.

This incident occurred just a week after another fatal crash along Enterprise Road in Nairobi, where four people lost their lives when a matatu overturned opposite Nairobi Prison.

The Kenya Red Cross confirmed the accident in a statement issued on Wednesday, June 3, noting that it involved a public service vehicle that overturned in the Industrial Area.

Emergency response teams were deployed to the scene to provide first aid and assist in evacuating the injured passengers.

Witnesses reported that the matatu was being driven recklessly, with the driver allegedly engaging in dangerous stunts before losing control and overturning the vehicle.
