Five people have been confirmed dead after being involved in a tragic road accident in the Mbaruk area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident which involved three vehicles occurred on Monday, August 4 evening at around 6:30 PM.
According to reports, a Toyota Fielder carrying five occupants was overtaking when it collided head-on with a saloon car.

Following the impact, the Toyota Fielder lost control and rammed into a Mercedes-Benz Actros trailer.
All five occupants in the vehicle, who included two men and two women, and a child, died on the spot.
Photos of the accident shared online showed the Toyota Fielder extensively damaged and on fire, while the saloon car was damaged on the rear.
This comes days after two people died and several others were injured after a road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The collision occurred at the Ngata area in Nakuru County, involving a 14-seater matatu and a trailer loaded with logs.
The trailer lost control and rammed into the matatu, causing a devastating crash that left passengers trapped beneath the wreckage.
