Investigations into the cause are ongoing, according to the area OCPD Antony Mbogo.
The fire comes days after another fire erupted in the same county where property worth millions of shillings were destroyed.
The blaze left many business owners and residents counting heavy losses.
The fire quickly spread to nearby residential structures, forcing residents to flee for safety as the blaze intensified at an alarming rate.
Firefighters from Kiambu County struggled to contain the fire, as residents criticised the fire department’s slow response.
The Kenya Red Cross confirmed the incident and dispatched an additional team of emergency responders to help the multiple agencies at the scene.
Notably, last month, a wildfire erupted in Isiolo, raging for more than two days. The fire is said to have affected several villages and damaged grazing areas.
The inferno consumed acres of grazing fields, leaving herders lost for a way forward on how they would feed their livestock.
Moreover, another wildfire has broken out, this time in Garissa County.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the fire broke out in Modogashe, Eresaburu, and Gurufu along the Isiolo-Garissa border on Wednesday, February 19.
Some unverified reports indicate that the fire broke out at around midday Wednesday.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
