Woman Arrested With 13 Bags of Bhang Worth Millions

A woman believed to be a drug trafficker has been arrested in Murang’a County following a coordinated operation by the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU).

In a statement released by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on July 18, the woman was apprehended at her residence in Kandara, Murang’a.

According to DCI, the arrest was made after members of the public reported suspicious activities to the authorities at the premises.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, ANU detectives conducted a raid that led to the seizure of 13 gunny bags filled with bhang.

“The arrest took place at her residence in Kandara, Murang’a County, where a search led to the recovery of 13 gunny bags filled with bhang weighing 225kgs with an estimated street value of Sh6.7 million.”

The detectives were also able to recover packaging materials believed to be used for processing and distributing the narcotics.

The suspect who goes by the name Eunice Wangui Kimani is currently in police custody undergoing processing in preparation for her court appearance. 

Meanwhile, the seized narcotics have been securely detained as exhibits.
