Renowned journalist Waweru Nyambura has announced his departure from Inooro TV, ending a career spanning more than a decade at the station where he rose through the ranks from a trainee reporter to a news producer.
In a statement shared on Sunday, June 21, Nyambura noted that his 10 years, six months and 28 days at Royal Media Services had come to an end, describing the broadcaster as the institution that shaped his journalism career.
“After 10 years, 6 months, and 28 days at East Africa’s leading media outlet by market share, The Royal Media Services, my tour of duty has come to an end.I celebrate having risen from a trainee reporter to a news producer and leading the most expensive airtime on Kenyan airwaves,” he noted.

During his tenure, Nyambura advanced from a trainee reporter to a news producer, overseeing one of the country’s most-watched news bulletins.
According to him, the opportunity enabled him to grow professionally and personally, travel to places he had never imagined, interact with influential figures, and win several national and continental journalism awards.
Waweru credited the media house for nurturing his talent and allowing him to build a successful career while doing work he was passionate about.
Although he did not disclose his next destination, the journalist said he is ready to embrace a new challenge.
He also expressed gratitude to colleagues, viewers and supporters for standing by him throughout his journey, saying their encouragement and appreciation of his storytelling had been instrumental to his career.
