DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa has revealed that the United Opposition is engaging Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in a bid to bring them into the coalition ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, June 21, Wamalwa said the three leaders were currently dealing with internal issues within ODM but expressed confidence that they would eventually resolve them and join the opposition alliance.
According to Wamalwa, the opposition expects the Linda Mwananchi team to become part of the coalition as equal partners once the discussions are concluded.

The DAP-K leader also reaffirmed his presidential ambitions, noting that his party had already cleared him to contest the presidency in the 2027 General Election.
Despite his candidature, Wamalwa noted that the United Opposition had agreed to field a single presidential candidate through a consensus process, with all coalition principals committing to support whoever emerges as the flag bearer.
He went on to note that the coalition was drawing inspiration from the unity that characterized the NARC alliance in 2002, adding that the same spirit would be crucial in mounting a strong challenge in the next election.
Wamalwa further stressed that the opposition leaders had resolved to remain united through the 2027 General Election and beyond.
He said the coalition’s success would depend on maintaining cohesion, rallying behind one candidate, and bringing together all like-minded leaders under the one-term movement without leaving anyone behind.
