Wajir Member of the County Assembly Yussef Hussein Ahmed, who went missing for over one month, was found dead in Lake Yahud.
The family identified his body which was badly mutilated with eyes gorged out and nose and hands chopped off.
Ahmed, who was also the minority leader of Wajir County Assembly, went missing on September 13.
The death of the MCA was confirmed by Idris Bulle Mohamed, a politician who noted Ahmed’s body was given to the family.
Apart from his eyes gouged out, perpetrators allegedly burnt his face to make it difficult for the family to identify him but a missing finger that Ahmed has always had enabled the family to easily recognise him.
It was reported that the MCA was accosted by armed individuals who abducted him in Nairobi on the ill-fated night of September 13 along the Enterprise Road on his way home from South C.
During the attack, abductors took the taxi driver’s phone to remove any possibility of being traced. Nonetheless, the phone was later recovered by the driver which helped security agencies to unravel what really transpired.
