Vincent Kompany Cements Lead at the Bundesliga Table after St Pauli Victory

Harry Kane made it to 100 goals contribution as Bayern Munich stunned Saint Pauli 3-2 after returning to action following a challenging international break, which resulted in Vincent Kompany losing both Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano to injuries.

The match began positively for Bayern, who took only 17 minutes to score. Harry Kane ended a brief goal drought in the Bundesliga with the opener. Jamal Musiala won possession deep in the St. Pauli half, and although he was tackled, the ball fell favorably to Michael Olise. Olise then delivered a cross that Kane converted from close range.

St. Pauli stunned the home crowd by equalizing just 10 minutes later. A well-executed play down the right saw the ball curled into the penalty area, where Elias Saad knocked it past goalkeeper Jonas Urbig after making a great run into the box.

Bayern responded early in the second half with a goal from Leroy Sane. Once again, Olise was the key contributor; he cleverly clipped a pass over the top for Sane to chest down and drill a low shot into the net, making it 2-1 in favor of Bayern. Olise nearly scored as well, but his powerful shot struck the side-netting after a great setup by Musiala.

Kompany’s side secured the win by adding a third goal with just 20 minutes left. Kane played a one-two with Olise before surging forward and setting up Sane to score his second of the match.

St. Pauli managed to reduce the deficit deep into stoppage time with a goal from Lars Ritzka, but it only served as a consolation. Bayern maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

Although Olise did not score, he was crucial to the victory, contributing to all three goals. His initial cross for Kane was perfect, making it easy for Kane to finish. He then assisted Sane’s goal to make it 2-1 with a brilliant over-the-top ball.

Finally, Olise and Kane combined again to set up Sane’s second goal of the afternoon, showcasing a fine performance from the Bayern attack. Olise’s contributions earned him the Man of the Match honor following the match.
