Vincent Harper Joins Walsall FC on Two-Year Deal After Exeter City Exit

Kenyan left-back and wing-back Vincent Harper has officially signed with Walsall FC, completing a free transfer to the English League Two side.

The 23-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a two-year contract, just two months after his departure from League One club Exeter City.

Harper, known for his pace, work rate, and ability to transition between defense and attack, brings both versatility and experience to Walsall’s backline.

The Saddlers will be looking to strengthen their promotion ambitions with the addition of the talented full-back, who has previously impressed in England’s lower divisions.

Harper Ready for New Challenge in League Two

Speaking after the move, Harper expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter in his career:

“I’m excited to join Walsall and take on this new challenge. The club has shown real ambition, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s goals for the upcoming season.”

Having developed through the youth ranks at Bristol City, Harper has steadily built his profile in English football.

His professional breakthrough came with a standout spell at Eastleigh FC, which eventually earned him a move to Exeter City in 2023. Despite a short stint in League One, Harper left Exeter by mutual consent earlier this year.

Walsall FC Bolsters Defensive Options

Walsall head coach Mat Sadler welcomed Harper’s arrival, highlighting the player’s energy and tactical intelligence:

“Vincent is a dynamic full-back with real attacking intent. He adds depth and quality to our squad and fits perfectly into our style of play.”

The Saddlers are actively strengthening their squad ahead of the 2025/26 League Two campaign, and Harper’s signing is seen as a key part of their summer rebuild.
