A 22-year-old student from Chuka University has passed away after non-stop beating by his uncles in Nyankon village in Nyamira County.
The student identified as Brian Mogaka was suspended from Chuka University over alleged involvement of cannabis use who went back home.
The situation angered his mother, Teresa Mogaka, who reportedly reached out to her brothers to help her discipline her son.
The uncles who reacted to the situation tied Mogaka’s hands and legs and then brutally caned him until he succumbed to the injuries.

The uncles, allegedly confirming that he is dead, changed his clothes and laid him on the bed.
They, therefore, planted cattle pesticide alongside him to hide evidence and ran away.
Ikonge assistant chief Joseph Masese, who confirmed the incident, said the deceased’s body had several bruises and injuries from the canes.
Police from Ekerenyo station and investigating officers arrived at the scene and took the deceased’s body to Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital.
More details about the uncles have not been mentioned yet.
