A Ugandan man has been nabbed in Naivasha after allegedly stabbing his wife to death for cooking omena instead of meat for supper.
After the incident which was reported to have occurred on March 15 2025 in Namasindwa District, the suspect flagged a motorist who was driving along the Gilgil-Naivasha road and requested a ride to Nairobi.
During the ride and in one conversation, the accused confessed to the motorist having killed his wife over a domestic dispute at their home in a village near the Kenya-Uganda border.
He also discoursed that he was escaping arrest after committing the crime.
In a turn of events, the motorist decided to drive towards Naivasha police station where he handed him over to the police station.
He was arrested at that instant and investigations launched into the matter while pending transfer to Uganda.
Meanwhile, the police confirmed that they had contacted Ugandan authorities for the handover of the suspect to be arraigned in court.
However, the motive for his confession is yet to be known.
