Tragedy as Grade 2 Pupil Swept Away by Floodwaters in Nakuru

A grade two pupil was swept away by floods in Milimani, Nakuru County.

The tragic incident happened on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, after a heavy flood in several parts of the city.

According to the family, the 8-year-old boy was heading home when he accidentally slipped into a roadside drainage trench.

Reports indicate that the pupil, identified as Glen Karanja was heading home from school when he fell into an open trench that had turned into a dangerous water stream due to the heavy rain.

According to his mother, he had left school at 3:30 pm as usual, but the only problem was that a regular school day ended in a tragedy.

Karanja’s body was discovered a few meters away from where the incident happened.

The deceased’s body was retrieved by the police officers.

The body was therefore taken to Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
