The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have nabbed a TikToker suspected of recording and posting a threatening message on TikTok earlier this week.
In a statement on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the DCI said specialised investigators traced the individual to a hideout in the Gachage area of Kiganjo, Gatundu South Sub‑County.
According to the DCI, he had taken refuge after posting the video.
“Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters have arrested Peter Maingi Kimani alias Menelik Kimani, who is suspected of recording a video containing a threatening message and sharing it on his TikTok account earlier this week”, DCI stated.
“The suspect was smoked out of his hideout in the Gachage area of Kiganjo, Gatundu South Sub-County, where he had holed up after committing the offence”, the authority added.
The suspect is currently in custody pending arraignment in court.
DCI further reminded the public not to use their freedom of expression to justify the violation of other people’s rights.
They further cautioned the public that anybody found in such an act will not only be spared but also face the law.
