Kenyan content creators who earn money through TikTok have been notified that they are required to provide their tax information to comply with Kenya’s tax requirements.
This comes after Kenyan creators received a notification from TikTok .
In the notification, Kenyans were asked to complete the Kenya tax form “as soon as possible to comply with Kenya’s tax requirements.
The notification appeared under System notifications and includedq a “Go to tax form” button that directs creators to submit the required tax information.
According to reports, the information will be used to verify creators’ tax responsibilities and fulfil its payment obligations for payouts made through the platform.

TikTokers have been required to submit tax information
The tax information form requires creators to provide their name, email address, address and country of residence.
Creators are also required to indicate whether they are residents or non-residents of Kenya.
According to the popular platform, the tax information will apply to payouts from all programmes and schemes in which creators have participated, as well as any future programmes they may join.
TikTok has therefore urged affected creators to complete the form as soon as possible to comply with Kenya’s tax requirements.
However, the platform has not specified a deadline in the notification.
