The Linda Mwananchi meeting at Ufangamano House on Friday, March 27, was briefly interrupted after police officers attempted to enter the gathering.
The disruption caused a temporary halt to proceedings as organizers and attendees reacted to the move.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who was addressing the meeting, cut his speech short and urged the officers to stay outside to avoid disturbing the event.

His intervention helped calm tensions and allowed the gathering to continue peacefully.
Siaya Governor James Orengo joined Sifuna at the meeting and cautioned that any attempt to disrupt or assault participants would not be tolerated.
His presence reinforced the message that the meeting was to proceed without interference.
Despite the brief disruption, the meeting resumed, and attendees were able to carry on with discussions as planned, highlighting the determination of organizers and participants to hold the event without obstruction.
Earlier, police officers had barricaded the road leading to Ufangamano House, preventing attendees from entering the building.
Photos and videos shared online showed officers equipped with batons and water cannons at the scene.
Despite the blockade, the Linda Mwananchi team managed to breach the barricade and gain access to Ufangamano House.
They are holding a parallel meeting to the ODM National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Jamhuri Showground.
The group, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, described their gathering as the “People’s NDC.”
The faction opposes ODM party leader Oburu Oginga and rejects the idea of the party endorsing President William Ruto for re-election in 2027.
