The United States Embassy in Nairobi has confirmed the appointment of Susan M. Burns as the new Chargé d’Affaires.
Following the appointment, Burns will take over the role of the top U.S. diplomat in the country.
Burns also confirmed her appointment in a statement on Monday, August 25, expressing optimism about potentially further strengthening the relationship between Kenya and the U.S.
“Iam so happy to be here to continue working to strengthen our relationship with Kenya. Many thanks to Carla and the entire Embassy team for their ongoing efforts. Can’t wait to meet you, Kenya,” she said in a statement.
