Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect attacked the victim with a panga as he was walking home from school on the evening of July 22.

Reports indicate that the two classmates had reportedly disagreed earlier that morning over learning materials after the suspect accused the deceased of interfering with his locker.

The police believe that the suspect deliberately skipped afternoon classes after the lunch break to plan the attack, which was carried out later that evening as the victim made his way home.

The injured student was rushed to Migori Level Four Hospital but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

His body was reportedly moved to the Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination as police continue with investigations into the incident.
