Tension was witnessed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Sossiot Police Station after the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Kennedy Wanjala, engaged in a tree-hugging challenge.
According to reports, other officers at the station were forced to disengage Wanjala after members of the public started surrounding the scene to witness the incident.
This prompted the senior officers to visit the station and interview the OCS, who seemed to be under emotional distress, after which they referred him for medical attention.
This comes after the Ministry of Health recently warned that prolonged tree hugging poses serious health risks.
“We are not stopping anyone from participating in the tree-hugging challenge, but you must first undergo a medical checkup to ensure that you are medically fit,” the Ministry said.
