Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has met Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and other Linda Mwananchi Movement leaders at his Wamunyoro residence following his return from a trip to the United States.
Photos shared on Tuesday, October 20, showed Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, receiving Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi Interim Head of Communication Pauline Njoroge at their home.
The delegation included Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, all associated with the Linda Mwananchi Movement.

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo and Bumula MP Jack Wamboka also attended the meeting.
Gachagua was accompanied by Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala and Nyandarua Senator John Methu, who has been designated as the party’s Secretary General.
The gathering marked Gachagua’s first engagement at his Wamunyoro home in nearly two months, bringing together political figures at a time when the Linda Mwananchi camp has faced disagreements among its supporters.
While in the United States, Gachagua revealed that he had reached out to Sifuna and Babu Owino following growing tensions between their respective supporters.
He alleged that the divisions were part of a wider plan by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to undermine the movement because of its growing influence in the country’s political landscape.
The former Deputy President further claimed that President William Ruto’s administration was seeking to exploit ethnic differences to weaken the faction.
Gachagua said he had involved Senator John Methu in efforts to facilitate discussions with Sifuna and Babu Owino, with the aim of resolving the disagreements and restoring calm among their supporters.
He also linked the alleged attempts to divide the movement to the large turnout witnessed during its rally at Jacaranda Grounds in Nairobi, which he claimed had unsettled the government.
The Wamunyoro meeting comes as political leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with alliances and emerging movements shaping discussions around the country’s political future.
