The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved charges against several individuals accused of involvement in submitting fraudulent claims worth Ksh2 million to the Social Health Authority (SHA).
In a statement on Saturday, October 4, the prosecution disclosed that the seven individuals worked at a medical clinic in Kilifi County where they allegedly committed the fraud.
Among the charges approved by the DPP are conspiracy to commit a felony, fraudulent alteration of information, acquisition of proceeds of crime and use of proceeds of crime.
tThe moves follows a file submitted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), which announced the completion of investigations into some of the SHA frauds.
