President William Ruto has appointed Samuel Muchina Nyagah to oversee the implementation of national government projects in Ol Kalou Constituency.
Muchina announced his new role on Tuesday night, July 21, following a meeting with President Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
In a statement after the meeting, Muchina said the President had assured him that all ongoing government projects in the constituency would continue as planned and be completed.

He noted that he had been tasked with supervising the implementation of key development projects, which include the completion of 36 ongoing electrification projects across the constituency, the construction of two housing units for vulnerable families in every ward, and the completion of five borehole projects to improve access to clean water.
Other projects he listed include the continuation of the university project, completion of the Level 5 JM Hospital, construction of the constituency stadium, and the completion of roads currently under tarmacking.
Muchina said he had accepted the responsibility and urged residents to view the assignment as a development initiative rather than a political one, adding that his focus would be on ensuring the projects are implemented for the benefit of the people of Ol Kalou.
He also thanked residents for the support they accorded him during the recently concluded by-election, saying the election was over but the constituency’s development agenda remained a priority.
Muchina contested the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election on a UDA ticket but lost to Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Kamau Ngotho in the July 16 mini poll.
Ngotho garnered 35,440 votes to secure victory, while Muchina finished second with 5,450 votes.
Jubilee Party’s Wilson Mwaniki Kigwa received 198 votes, Stephen Wanyoike Waithaka of NLP garnered 103, and Edwin Kariiri Muchiri of PNU received 28 votes.
Abdifatah Hussein Abdullahi of FPK got 19 votes, Edward Mathenge Mwaniki of KMM secured 16 votes, while Rachael Wangui Njoroge of PDP finished last with 11 votes.
