President William Ruto has revoked the appointment of Charles Muriuki Njagagua as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Consolidated Bank of Kenya.
According to a gazette notice dated Friday, October 3, 2025, Njagagua’s appointment to the board has been officially terminated.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions ActI, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, revokes the appointment of Charles Muriuki Njagagua as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited, with effect from the 3rd October, 2025,” read the notice.

Meanwhile, the Head of State has appointed Njagagua as a Senior Advisor for Legislative Affairs in the Office of the President.
Taking to his Facebook page on Monday, October 6, Njagagua expressed gratitude to President Ruto for appointing him to the new role.
He stated that he is eager to contribute meaningfully to advancing the country’s national agenda under the president’s leadership.
Njagagua formerly served as the Member of Parliament for Mbeere North Constituency between 2017 and 2022 but lost the seat to current Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku in the 2022 General Election.
