During bilateral talks, Kenya and Kazakhstan agreed to deepen trade and investment relations and position each other as strategic gateways to Africa and Central Asia respectively.

The two nations also explored opportunities to expand market access for Kenyan tea and other agricultural exports in the Central Asian market.

The visit further resulted in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering a wide range of sectors.

Agreements were signed in trade to boost bilateral commerce and expand market access for businesses in both countries.

Additional deals were reached in transport and logistics to improve cargo connectivity and facilitate movement of goods between the two regions.

In the mining sector, the two countries committed to promoting investment and value addition initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities.

Kenya and Kazakhstan also signed agreements on space technology, with cooperation expected to support agriculture, climate monitoring, and disaster management through the use of satellite technology.

Other agreements covered ICT, tourism, investment promotion, financial services, and commerce.

The Head of State travelled to Kazakhstan for a two-day State Visit at the invitation of President Tokayev, becoming the first Kenyan Head of State to visit the Central Asian nation.
