A woman in Githongori area near Runda reportedly committed suicide.
Allegedly, the woman, identified as Monica killed her three children before taking her own life on Tuesday 11th February 2025 in the morning.
Further reports stated that she killed the children using bedsheets and later hanged herself inside the house.
Their bodies were found by Monica’s husband who returned home from nights shift and called for the police informing his Neighbours.
The matter is still under investigations by Gigiri police .
According to the Gigiri Deputy Police Commander Fredrick, they recovered a suicide note from the house which they are still investigating to determine the author and the motive towards the incident.
Their bodies are lying at Kenyatta teaching and Referral Morgue ahead of a postmortem exercise.
By 0ctober 8th 2024, Kenya’s crude suicide rate was 6.1 deaths per 100,000 people.
Psychiatrist Linnet Ongeri claimed that men were men were more likely to die by suicide compared to women.
