Kenyan journalist Nick Mudimba has been confirmed dead.
His death was confirmed by his employer, CGTN, where he worked as a senior reporter.
Mudimba who previously worked at KTN and Switch TV passed away on Sunday evening at his home in Syokimau.
Reports indicate that he was battling an illness that included high levels of uric acid which had initially been treated on Saturday.
Before he collapsed, Mudimba had been recovering steadily and even watched a Harambee Stars football match with the Gabon national team.
Until his demise, he was a renowned sports journalist who was passionate about the game and allegedly monitored other aspiring sportscasters.
Fellow CGTN journalist Sharon Barang’a has mourned his death stating that she cannot forget the greetings and the laughter they shared.
Kenyan journalist Citizen TV Mashirima Kapombe also took to X to mourn the death of her counterpart.
“Demise, why are you so cruel? Eternal rest grant unto Nick Mudimba. Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen,” she wrote.
