In a strong show of intent, RC Strasbourg have rejected a €15 million bid from AC Milan for their highly-rated right-back Gela Doué.
The 21-year-old defender, who has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Ligue 1, remains a key part of Strasbourg’s future plans under BlueCo ownership.
According to sources close to the negotiations, BlueCo, the ownership group also linked with Chelsea FC, has no intention to sell Gela Doué during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Strasbourg have reportedly placed a €35 million valuation on the French defender — more than double Milan’s opening proposal.
Doué enjoyed a breakout 2024/25 campaign, showcasing his defensive discipline, pace, and ability to contribute in the final third.
His performances have drawn attention from several European giants, with AC Milan believed to be leading the race until their offer was turned down.
The Rossoneri, under new sporting direction, are keen to strengthen their right-back position and have identified Doué as a long-term solution.
However, Strasbourg’s firm stance signals their ambition to retain top talent and build a competitive squad around their emerging stars.
With three years left on his current contract, Gela Doué remains committed to Strasbourg’s project. Insiders suggest the player is flattered by the interest from Milan, but is not actively pushing for a move.
This rejection also reflects the shifting dynamics in French football, with clubs like Strasbourg — now backed by powerful investors — no longer forced to sell top players at undervalued prices.
Unless AC Milan return with a significantly improved offer close to Strasbourg’s €35 million valuation, the Ligue 1 side are expected to keep hold of Doué for at least another season.
