Raphael Tuju Accuses Police of Night Raid at His Karen Home

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju on Saturday, March 14, accused police officers of raiding his Karen residence and forcing him out of the property at around 3 a.m.

In a video shared publicly, Tuju appeared dressed in a tracksuit as he confirmed that officers from the Rapid Response Unit had arrived at the home and locked him outside the gate.

The former CS claimed the incident was not only related to the legal case he currently has in court.

He went on to allege that the eviction was influenced by higher authorities within the government, suggesting that the officers were acting under instructions beyond their control.

Tuju also addressed his children, urging them to remain strong as the family goes through the difficult situation.

He noted that his actions were meant to protect the family business and defend what they had built.

Tuju further indicated that he was prepared to face the consequences of the dispute as he continues fighting to safeguard the family’s interests.

The former CS also confirmed plans to move to the Court of Appeal of Kenya on Monday in a bid to stop the seizure of his property.

According to him, the legal team intends to act quickly and seek intervention before any further court decisions are implemented.

Before the reported eviction, Tuju had attempted to obtain orders from the High Court of Kenya to temporarily block auctioneers from taking over the Karen property over an outstanding loan dispute.

The standoff stems from a long-running financial case involving an alleged default on a loan amounting to Ksh1.9 billion, which has placed his property at risk of being auctioned.
