Rachel Ruto Honors President Ruto on Father’s Day

First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has paid a heartfelt tribute to President William Ruto as the country joined the rest of the world in marking Father’s Day.

In a message shared on Sunday, June 21, the First Lady described the President as a devoted father whose commitment to his family continues to inspire those around him.

She also praised him for balancing his role as the Head of State with his responsibilities as a husband and father, noting that his dedication, wisdom and steadfast leadership are reflected both at home and in public service.

Mama Rachel further recognized President Ruto’s role as the father of the nation, saying his commitment to serving Kenyans and working toward a better future mirrors the values of care, responsibility and sacrifice associated with fatherhood.

Beyond her tribute to the President, the First Lady extended her appreciation to fathers across Kenya, thanking them for their unwavering dedication to their families.

She acknowledged the countless sacrifices fathers make, often behind the scenes, to provide for, guide and protect their loved ones.

She also wished fathers across the country good health, grace and the joy of seeing the fruits of their efforts reflected in the success and well-being of their families.

President Ruto and Mama Rachel have been married since 1991 and are parents to six children: June Ruto, Nick Ruto, Charlene Ruto, Stephanie Ruto, George Ruto and Nadia Cherono.

Father’s Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday of June in Kenya and many other countries around the world.

The occasion honours fathers and father figures for their love, guidance and sacrifices.

Families typically mark the day by spending time together, sending messages of appreciation, giving gifts and organizing special meals or gatherings to celebrate the role fathers play in their homes and society.
