Questions Emerge Over Disappearance of Babu Owino’s Brother-in-Law After DCI Detention

Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has alleged that his brother was abducted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to reports, he was found dumped in Machakos, days after his disappearance.

According to a statement from Babu Owino, the brother-in-law was released in the wee hours of Friday.

“My brother-in-law was released at 4am and dropped off in Machakos,” Babu said in a statement.

This comes a day after Babu Owino alleged that his brother-in-law was arrested by six DCI officers.

“Geoffrey Adjiki called me and told me that he was apprehended by six DCI officers, and he told me that he was being brought here to the Nairobi area police headquarters. I am here at the moment. We have not found him,” stated Babu Owino.

He also alleged that Adjiki placed a distress call to him at around 4pm, revealing that he had been apprehended and was being driven toward the Nairobi Area Police Headquarters.

This made him to rush to the police station immediately, only to find no sign of Adjiki anywhere.

The MP further revealed that his brother-in-law’s phone also went completely silent shortly after that initial call, cutting off all contact and leaving the family with no way to trace him.
