Paris Saint-Germain continued their preparations for the Champions League final with a comfortable away victory over Montpellier on Saturday.
The team secured their place in the Champions League final by achieving a commanding 4-1 win against Montpellier, with Goncalo Ramos scoring a hat trick.
Following their semi-final second-leg triumph over Arsenal, manager Luis Enrique made nine changes to the starting lineup. However, this had little impact on the Ligue 1 champions, who comfortably cruised to victory on Saturday.
Notably, PSG’s starting lineup had an average age of just 21 years and 251 days, making it the youngest team ever to compete in the French top flight.
PSG had to wait until the 44th minute to take the lead at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98, with Senny Mayulu scoring by rifling the ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.
Ramos doubled the lead just four minutes into the second half, placing the ball beyond goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte after receiving a cross from Ibrahim Mbaye, aided by a deflection.
Montpellier briefly reignited hopes when Tanguy Coulibaly found the bottom corner of the net, but Ramos quickly restored PSG’s three-goal advantage just over a minute later.
Ramos completed his hat trick with a sensational finish, controlling a long ball forward from Arnau Tenas before skillfully turning his defender and striking the ball in off the crossbar from a distance.
