President William Ruto is set to address a joint session parliament next week on Thursday.
Speaker Moses Wetangula said in a message to the National Assembly that the Head of State will make his 2024 State of the Nation address on November 21st, 2024.
I wish to inform the house that I have received a message from His Excellency the President conveying that he intends to deliver the 2024 State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

The Head of the Republic will discourse measures taken to achieve National security, and national values and also enlighten on the achievements of his administration.
The state of the Nation address is done annually as required by the constitution.
This will be the third State of the Nation addressed by the President since he was, he was voted in as the Head of State in 2022.
His first State of the Nation address was on 29 September 2022, while his second address was on November 9th, 2023.
The State of the Nation address comes this year when the President’s administration is facing a lot of challenges over unmet expectation issues on the social health insurance fund (SHIF), struggles in the economy and a lot of abduction, kidnapping and murder cases of which the issue was also addressed by the clergy.
The speaker of the National Assembly and the Senate will be expected to gazette the sitting scheduled for next week.
