President William Ruto on Wednesday, November 12, began a four-day development tour of the Ukambani region.
During the visit, he is scheduled to tour Makueni, Kitui, and Machakos counties, where he will launch various infrastructure and development projects.
On the first day of the tour, Ruto commissioned the Kasikeu and Mikuyu bridges, along with their access roads, in Makueni County.

He also distributed title deeds to residents in Kasikeu and launched the Emali–Ukia Road in Kibwezi West.
Taking to his social media after the launch, the Head of State noted that his administration is focused on projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
Ruto reiterated that no part of the country would be left behind in his government’s development agenda.
Moreover, while addressing residents, President Ruto hinted at plans to extend the Affordable Housing Programme to Emali, noting that urban development should also reach smaller towns, not just major cities.
Ruto last visited the region on Monday, October 20, during the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County.
