President William Ruto has vowed an unshakable bond with the Mt Kenya region.
The Head of State, on his five-day tour, which is set to conclude on Saturday, is accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretaries and leaders from the Mt Kenya Region.
Speaking during his second-day tour to the region, the President assured that the bond between him and the Mt Kenya region is strong and cannot be absolutely shaken by anyone.
He further stated that he has built the relationship between him and the region for twenty years.
During his visit in Maua, the President laid a foundation stone at the Huduma Center.
He outlined several government interventions such as officially classifying miraa as a cash crop, setting new gazetted prices and expanding export markets.
He also noted that he had held discussions with the presidents of Somaliland and Jubaland to secure foreign markets for miraa.
The Head of the Republic further assured that all their interests are safeguarded just like those of other regions, and he committed to fulfill all the promises made.
