A postmortem has revealed that the Multimedia University student, Sylvia Kemunto, was strangled to death.
The announcement was made by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, who stated that the deceased had passed away from strangulation.
Oduor added that there we defensive wounds on the deceased’s body indicating a possible struggle with her killer who might have overpowered her.
Kemunto’s lifeless body was discovered in a water tank within the university compound.

She was reported missing after her mother tried to contact her but was unable to reach her.
This prompted her to travel to Kemunto’s campus, where she was informed that her daughter had not been seen for days.
After a search was conducted and her case filed at Lang’ata police station, her body was recovered in a septic tank.
The prime suspect the who is allegedly her boyfriend, was arrested in connection with the murder after surrendering to the police.
However, according to the suspect, a physical altercation with Kemunto occurred after she declined his advances, which led to her knocking her head against the wall.
He added that in a panic, he hid the body at the septic tank.
