The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Makadara, Nairobi County, have recovered a large consignment of suspected stolen property following a raid on a residence in the area.
Among the items recovered included 120 smartphones, 10 laptops, two tablets, 18 assorted gas cylinders and various mobile phone spare parts.
According to the authority, detectives acted on intelligence regarding suspected stolen electronic devices and other property believed to be in the possession of a suspect.
The suspect was arrested and placed in custody as investigations began into the origin and ownership of the recovered property.
The officers subsequently raided the residence of Julius Murengi Gacheru, where they found the assorted items.
The recovered items are currently being processed as detectives work to identify their rightful owners and establish how they came into the suspect’s possession.
The DCI has therefore urged members of the public who may have lost electronic devices or other property to come forward with relevant information that could assist in identifying the recovered items.
