Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has made it clear that he is not seeking any government position.
The former CS while speaking on Wednesday, April 23, dismissed any talk of accepting a role in government, noting that his only political interest is the Meru gubernatorial seat.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am focusing on running for the Meru governor seat in the coming elections. I want to make it very clear that I am not looking for any other job; the job I am only looking for is the Governor of Meru,” he said.

Munya moreover stated that he has not been approached with any job offers, insisting that even if he were, he would turn them down.
“I don’t have the time or luxury to serve in any other position. I have not been offered any other job by anyone, and even if I am offered, I will not accept,” he added.
The clarification comes weeks after President Ruto stated that he was in talks with Munya and former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi during his visit in Meru.
While addressing a public rally, Ruto assured locals that discussions were already underway with the two leaders and urged patience.
However, Linturi later dismissed claims by Ruto that the two are in talks, accusing the Head of State of lying to the public.
Speaking on Sunday, April 20, Linturi stated that he has not had any communication with Ruto in months, adding that when they last talked, he was not seeking a job.
