Pauline Njoroge has responded to remarks made by businessman Jimi Wanjigi regarding the cancellation of the Greenfield Terminal project at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Wanjigi, in a Sunday interview on May 17, had linked the scrapping of the multi-billion-shilling airport expansion project to political tensions during the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, alleging that the decision was influenced by shifting political alliances.
He also defended his role in the project, maintaining that his involvement dated back to the Kibaki administration and insisting that he did not benefit from government contracts under either Uhuru Kenyatta or President William Ruto’s governments.

Wanjigi further suggested that the project was halted following disagreements tied to his political alignment at the time.
In her response, Pauline Njoroge addressed the claims, weighing in on the controversy surrounding the cancellation of the major infrastructure project.
Wanjigi has blamed former President Uhuru Kenyatta for the cancellation of the Greenfield Terminal project at JKIA, claiming the move led to taxpayer losses despite minimal progress on the project.
He argued that the contractor had already been paid heavily even though little work was done.
However, Pauline Njoroge dismissed his claims, insisting the project was not cancelled for political reasons but due to alleged financial demands linked to the tender.
She maintained that the decision was influenced by concerns over the cost structure of the project rather than political differences.
Njoroge further cited Raila Odinga’s account of the matter, saying it contradicted Wanjigi’s version of events.
She accused the businessman of misrepresenting facts publicly and suggested he should be clear about his political stance.
