A 38-year-old patient died by suicide at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital ward.
According to detectives, an investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind the Sunday incident.
The man, identified as Mike Jum, is said to have hanged himself inside a toilet, where he was recuperating after an admission.

A report from the police indicated that the decided used belt for the mission
The hospital Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Vincent Oduor, noted that the patient who has been ailing from Tuberculosis was admitted to the isolation cube where he was receiving medical attention.
The deceased’s body was found inside the toilet by a caretaker, who raised an alarm to the hospital management.
Moreover, Homa Bay Sub County Police Commander Emmanuel Kiplagat said their preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had skipped his TB medications before the incident.
The body was moved to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
