Partey Scores in a No Arsenal Party at Emirates Stadium

Brentford secured a 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday, with Yoane Wissa scoring the equalizer after the Gunners failed to maintain their lead at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal believed they had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half when Kieran Tierney found the net, but the goal was disallowed by the new semi-automated offside technology.

Brentford may have been fortunate to escape a red card before halftime when Christian Norgaard received a yellow card for a tough challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.

Thomas Partey scored the opening goal in the 61st minute, thanks to impressive work from Declan Rice. The England midfielder advanced the ball from deep in his own half and assisted Partey, who struck it powerfully past goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Brentford equalized 13 minutes later when Nathan Collins headed the ball back into the Arsenal area, allowing Wissa to skillfully turn it into the net.

Liverpool can extend their lead to 13 points when they host West Ham on Sunday at 14:00 BST, while Arsenal’s attention now shifts to their Champions League second leg in Madrid on Wednesday.
