Serie A side Parma have parted ways with head coach Carlos Cuesta after the club and the Spaniard agreed that their professional relationship could no longer continue.
Parma announced the decision on Sunday, September 27, describing it as a “shared decision” following discussions between the club and the manager.
Cuesta, 31, joined Parma in 2025 for his first senior managerial position after previously working as an assistant coach under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

He replaced Cristian Chivu, who is now Inter Milan manager.
The decision comes only a week after Parma recorded their first Serie A victory of the season, beating Genoa 2-1 at home.
Despite that result, the club currently sit 15th in the league standings.
In a statement, Parma said the conditions were no longer in place to continue the relationship, particularly regarding the development of the club’s sporting project.
Cuesta said he had given his all during his time at Parma and thanked the club, players and supporters.
Parma said Monday’s training session would be handled by the existing coaching staff as the club considers its next managerial appointment.
