One Arrested After Police Recover 86 Rolls of Bhang in Kibra

Police have nabbed a suspected drug trafficker in an intelligence-led raid that led to the recovery of 86 rolls of bhang.

According to a statement by the National Police Service, the operation was conducted by officers from Kibra Police Station in the Lindi area after acting on credible intelligence reports linking the suspect to ongoing drug trafficking activities in the neighbourhood.

Durng the operation, the police stormed the suspect’s premises, where he was allegedly found preparing narcotics for distribution.

“The raid caught the suspect completely off guard, with officers finding him actively rolling sticks of cannabis sativa, preparing the narcotics for distribution,” NPS stated.

A search conducted at the scene led to the recovery of multiple exhibits linked to narcotics distribution.

“Officers recovered 86 rolls of cannabis sativa prepared in cigarette-sized form and ready for street distribution, approximately 200 grams of unprocessed cannabis sativa, 48 pieces of cannabis cakes believed intended for sale in the area, and 25 rolling papers commonly used in the preparation and packaging of cannabis products,” the service added.

According to the authorities, the arrest serves as a breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb the spread of narcotics.

The suspect has so far been taken custody at Kibra Police Station pending arraignment in court.

Investigators further revealed that they are pursuing further leads to determine whether the suspect is part of a wider distribution network operating within Nairobi and beyond.
