Police officers have launched investigations after an officer was allegedly shot and killed his colleague while on duty .
Reports indicate that the suspect is now on the run.
According to reports, the deceased officer, Nicholas Samoei, died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The suspect, identified as Kevin Omondi, had initially claimed that Samoei hadshot himself, before he switched off his phone and disappeared.
The body has since been moved to the Vihiga County Referral Hospital mortuary, as police appeal to the public for information to help track down the fugitive officer.
