Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga has called on party members to embrace unity and discipline as he assumes leadership following his recent appointment as Party Leader.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 24, Dr. Oburu urged ODM members and supporters to remain calm, united, and focused during the transition period, emphasizing the need for cohesion and orderly conduct within the party.
He encouraged party faithful to uphold Baba’s legacy by strengthening ODM, respecting democratic institutions, and engaging in peaceful and constructive political engagement.

The new party leader also paid tribute to the late Raila Odinga, noting that his life was defined by a deep commitment to the greater good of the nation.
Dr. Oburu said Raila’s dedication to justice, constitutionalism, devolution, and the dignity of the ordinary mwananchi played a central role in shaping Kenya’s democratic journey and continues to inspire generations despite his passing.
As Party Leader, he pledged to serve with integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to the interests of the Kenyan people, reaffirming his dedication to advancing a just, united, and prosperous Kenya.
Extending his message beyond party lines, Dr. Oburu called on all Kenyans to embrace unity during the Christmas season, urging compassion for the vulnerable and a recommitment to shared national values.
He concluded by wishing Kenyans and their families a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous New Year.
