President William Ruto has nominated Kosiom Frank Ole Kibelekenya as Kenya’s Ambassador to Copenhagen, Denmark, following Cabinet approval for the establishment of a new diplomatic mission.
The President also appointed three Deputy Ambassadors: Elias Bare Shill to Mogadishu, Somalia; Ambassador Dr Joseph Warui, who has been redeployed to Moscow, Russia; and Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Nur to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Nur previously served as Kenya’s Ambassador to Doha, Qatar, while Warui was Deputy Head of Mission at the Court of Saint James in the United Kingdom.

Elias Bare will serve under Ambassador Kubai Iringo, Kenya’s current envoy to Somalia, who has held the position since presenting his credentials in early 2024.
Deputy Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Nur will serve under Ambassador Isaac Njenga, Kenya’s envoy to Tanzania, while Deputy Ambassador Dr Joseph Warui will deputise Ambassador Dr Peter Mutuku Mathuki in Moscow.
Meanwhile, the nomination of Kosiom Frank Ole Kibelekenya as Ambassador to Denmark has been forwarded to the National Assembly for parliamentary vetting and approval.
The appointments form part of Presidential Action No. IV of 2026, announced on Friday, February 6, by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix K. Koskei.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs these are fresh appointments linked to new postings where Kenya previously had no sitting envoys.
